Caring for the Environment
Students at Cowper PS care about the environment. We have a vegetable garden consisting of six beds, with a group of students in charge of each one. We grow vegetables and herbs.
Fruit trees are grown throughout the grounds, mulberries, citrus and bananas grow in abundance. All fruit and vegetables are taken home by the children or eaten throughout the ‘Fruito' sessions each morning. This helps to encourage a healthy eating lifestyle.
Being water wise we have installed three water tanks to help with irrigating our gardens.
Children maintain the garden beds at the front of the school to enhance the playground environment.
