About our school

Cowper Public School is situated in Cowper, which is a small, North Coast town on the banks of the Clarence River, 22kms from Grafton.

Cowper Public School was established in 1874 with one original school building still standing beside the two, new classrooms built as part of the Building Education Revolution. These new classrooms will feature innovative technology with a Connected Classroom and an Interactive Whiteboard in the K-2 classroom.

Our students enjoy a broad, rich curriculum which has a central focus on English, Maths and Science. Students are given numerous opportunities to participate in a range of sports through lessons, clinics and carnivals. We challenge our year 6 students to develop their skills through our leadership programme. All classrooms have electronic boards, laptops and iPads so all students can utilise 21st Century tools to enable and enhance learning. To develop the full potential of each child we offer a range of activities from fishing to STEAM Classes (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics).

An extensive playground adjacent to the magnificent Clarence River features attractive play equipment, student vegetable garden and large grassy fields for the Active After Schools' Sports program.

Our motto
